Hfd. Parking Authority tweaks downtown garage pricing

The Hartford Parking Authority is making several rate changes to its MAT garage that will increase or decrease costs for certain city visitors.

Higher demand for spaces at its MAT Garage, located across from the XL Center on Church Street, is leading HPA to increase prices for vehicles parked less than two hours, or more than five hours. For stays between two and five hours, rates will decrease.

For up to 30 minutes, the price will double to $1.50; for 30 minutes to an hour, the rate will double to $3; and for one to two hours, the rate will double to $6. For two to three hours, the price will drop from $10.50 to $9; for three to four hours, the price will drop from $14 to $12; and for four to five hours, the price will drop from $16.50 to $15. And For five to nine hours or more, the price will go up $1.50 to $18. Meanwhile, the monthly parking rate will increase $10 to $160. Special event parking will remain $10.

The HPA also determined that its rates at the Church Street garage will remain the same.
