Central Connecticut home sales climbed again in September, paced by a surge in condominium closings, realty authorities say.
Single-family house sales in the Greater Hartford area grew 12 percent last month to 815 units vs. 726 units in September 2012, according to the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors.
Median house sale prices rose 4 percent to $218,000 from $210,000 as dwellings on average spent 17 fewer days on the market, GHAR said. New listings and inventory also grew.
Condo sales grew to 204 units closed in September, up 38 percent from 148 units a year earlier.
But condo prices slipped 6 percent last month to $145,000 from $153,750 the same month last year.
