Hartford area house and condos sales jumped in August, with inventory spending less time on the market than year ago, realty authorities say.
Closed sales rose 12.6 percent last month to 1,067 from 948 in July, the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors said Wednesday.
The average days a house spent on the market shortened by three weeks from 58 days this August 80 days August of last year.
The median sales price of single family homes was flat at $235,000 last month vs. $234,500 a year earlier.
Condominium sales rose 17 percent to 242 units in August vs. 207 last year, with days sitting on the market quickening to 89 from 108, the association said.
Median condo prices also were flat, at $156,000.
