Area home sales remained strong in October, with prices up and more inventory from which to choose, realty authorities say.
According to the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors, 837 single-family dwellings sold last month vs. 718 closings the same month a year ago, a 17 percent gain.
October’s median sales price grew 4.7 percent to $225,000 vs. $215,000 last year.
In the condo sector, sales rose 5 percent to 189 units closed vs. 180 sold in October 2012, the association said.
Condo prices, however, fell 8.8 percent last month to $146,000 from $160,000 a year earlier.
