The Webster Theater in Hartford was sold in July to a New Jersey-based production company, Concert Crave, but the price of the deal had been undisclosed.
A new city land record filing shows how much the buyer paid for the real estate.
Concert Crave, which has rebranded the venue as The Webster, paid $1.45 million for the nearly 32,000-square-foot theater property at 31 Webster St., records show.
It bought the property from MassConcerts, which owned The Webster Theater since 2009. MassConcerts originally bought the property for $600,000, city records show.
“We are always looking for new opportunities,” MassConcerts CEO John Peters told the HBJ last month. “It just was time to move on from this venue.”
MassConcerts will continue to promote concerts at The Webster, Peters said.
In 2009, MassConcerts purchased the venue from Justine Robertson, whose family opened it as a movie theater.
The white-brick sided building was built in 1940 and has an assessed value of $492,660.
