Henkel completes acquisition of Not Your Mother’s hair care brand

Henkel, a Germany-based manufacturer of consumer goods and industrial adhesives with its North American headquarters in Connecticut, announced Monday it has completed its acquisition of the “Not Your Mother’s” hair care brand.

Henkel said the brand, launched in 2010 and headquartered in Tampa, Florida, sells shampoos, conditioners and styling products across North America.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Henkel’s North America headquarters is in Rocky Hill, and its consumer brands division is based in Stamford. The company recently also broke ground on a more than $70 million research and development facility in Trumbull that is expected to open in 2027.

The acquisition adds to Henkel’s consumer brands portfolio, which includes products such as Dial soaps and Schwarzkopf hair care. Henkel reported about $6.1 billion in North America sales in 2025, representing roughly a quarter of its global revenue.

The company said the deal is intended to strengthen its position in hair care, one of its core consumer categories.
