Whittlesey & Hadley, P.C., a provider of accounting and financial services, held its first “Helping Hartford Day,” sending teams of volunteers throughout the city to lend a hand to local charitable organizations. Members of the firm helped out at the Boys & Girls Club, Catholic Charities, Mercy Housing and Shelter, Our Piece of the Pie, and VNA HealthCare. Traditionally, Whittlesey & Hadley had held a summer outing for its staff, but with the difficult economy, the employees decided that they wanted to give something back to the community.
