The earthquake in Haiti quake hit close to home at Pension Consultants Inc. in Farmington. The daughter of one of the firm’s 26 employees was volunteering for the Haitian Health Foundation in Jérémie, Haiti, when the quake hit. To raise money, employees raffled the owners’ parking spots, paid for casual dress days, held a book sale and valentine’s candy sale, and had several homemade luncheons where employees planned, prepared, and served a hot lunch for a fee. Nadine Stanley, the firm’s receptionist, single-handedly baked over 400 cookies during the six-week effort and raised hundreds of dollars.
