Health-focused fast-casual restaurant opens in Glastonbury

A new Glastonbury restaurant is giving fast-casual diners something different to track: not their expanding waistlines, but their daily macronutrients.

Macros Healthy Restaurant, founded by husband-and-wife team Michael and Chelsea Osgood, has opened at 2858 Main St., across from Edge Fitness. It offers customizable bowls built around nutrition transparency and macronutrient tracking.

The fast-casual concept features proprietary digital tools, including a macro calculator that determines daily macronutrient needs based on age, activity level and health goals, and a meal calculator that displays real-time nutritional information as customers build their meals.

“People want to eat healthier, but they’re overwhelmed by conflicting information and tired of guessing,” Michael Osgood said. “We wanted to create a place where you don’t have to wonder what’s in your food, where it came from or how it supports your goals.”

The restaurant distinguishes itself by avoiding seed oils, using only olive oil or avocado oil for cooking, and preparing all proteins in-house. Menu options include goal-oriented bowls such as the Heart Health Bowl, Antioxidant Bowl and High-Protein Bowl.

Macros will host a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony Jan. 10 at noon, featuring raffles, a DJ and food samples.

The restaurant is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is closed Sundays.
