Access Health CT, the state’s health insurance exchange created by Obamacare, had enrolled 86,001 people as of Jan. 6, officials reported.
People ages 55 to 64 make up the largest group of enrollees, at 35 percent, followed by 23 percent in the ages 45- 54 category.
A younger demographic of 26 to 34-year-olds, which under the design of Obamacare are largely meant to subsidize care for older enrollees, now makes up 12 percent of the exchange’s health plan sales.
Anthem plans represent 64 percent of those sold, while Connecticare has one-third. HealthyCT has 3 percent market share.
The exchange opened for business Oct. 1
