Is the next Silicon Valley taking shape in…Hamden?
Well, maybe. At least one new technology-services company is betting on the town. SMB Networks LLC has found a new home at 2519 Whitney Ave., at Lincoln Street.
Founded in 2006 by Peter Verlezza, SMB’s mission is to build long-term, committed relationships with clients drawn to its promise of “hassle-free IT.” SMB‘s services include computer and network support, VoIP, managed network services, website design, mobile apps and SEO/SEM.
The company specializes in working with clients from the health-care industry. In particular it promises to help clients navigate the potential minefields of HIPAA and security compliance mandates, according to SMB’s website. The firm was previously located at 451 State St. in North Haven, according to the company’s Facebook page and Better Business Bureau profile.
“On behalf of our residents and the town, I’d like to welcome SMB to Hamden,” said Hamden Mayor Curt Balzano Leng on Monday. “The technology industry continues to grow, and Hamden continues to be an attractive community to set up shop – something we are all very proud of. I wish SMB the best in their new location, and encourage our residents to check them out.”
Dale Kroop, Hamden’s director of economic and neighborhood development, said SMB Network’s arrival continues the growth of technology and health care in Hamden and the region.
“This is the fastest growing part of the Hamden economy,” Kroop said. “We are really thrilled to have them come to Hamden.”
