Hartford’s municipal tax rules now allow seniors to pay their property taxes four times a year rather than twice, city officials say.
City Tax Collector Marc Nelson said Monday that the Elderly Tax Credit program has been amended for fiscal year 2016 that begins July 1 to permit eligible seniors to pay their annual realty tax in quarterly installments rather than semi-annual installments. City Council approved the change earlier this year, Nelson said.
