The owners of the former Crowne Plaza hotel on Morgan Street in downtown Hartford, who filed for bankruptcy in 2010, have lost the building to foreclosure, court records show.
Control of the hotel, which was converted into a Ramada Plaza last year, was handed back to its lenders Fifty Morgan CT LLC.
In August 2010, the hotel’s former owners CHOA Vision LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, citing more than $10 million in debt. Since that time management of the hotel has changed hands several times as the judge ordered a receiver to run the property. Pennsylvania hotel management firm GF Management was the most recent manager of the 350-room hotel.
