Hartford’s Joseph Merritt & Co. acquires Cromwell printing company

Hartford printing and graphics provider Joseph Merritt & Company acquired Cromwell-based Northeast Printing Network.

The move will expand the scope of services Joseph Merritt and Northeast Printing can bring to their customers, Joseph Merritt said.

“Where Northeast Printing Network comes in is they do quite a bit of political printing,” Kevin Perry, Joseph Merritt’s president and chief operating officer, said. “This acquisition makes [political printing] an interesting part of our business.”

Perry would not disclose the financial terms of the deal, but said there will be no layoffs, and the company’s workforce will grow by five to 45.

As part of the acquisition, New England Printing will move its operation to Joseph Merritt’s headquarters in Hartford. Perry will serve as a senior adviser to New England Printing’s executive team.
