Hartford’s downtown clean team, with brooms and shovels in hand, were in storm-ravaged downtown Springfield on Friday to lend a helping hand.
The Hartford Improvement District’s Cleaning Ambassadors worked with their Springfield and Boston counterparts to clean up after Wednesday’s devastating tornados.
Five full time Cleaning Ambassadors from Hartford, including the operations manager arrived Friday morning with brooms, barrels, loppers and a pick-up truck ready to help in any way they can.
They are joined by Boston’s Downtown Crossing Business Improvement District.
“We felt that it was important to be able to offer our full support to our neighbors,” says Michael Zaleski, the Hartford BID’s executive director. “We know that if the situation was reversed they would not hesitate to do the same for us.”
