Mission: The mission of CIL is to create and sustain housing and other community resources that provide affordability, accessibility and independence to those in need.
Background: CIL is a diverse, nonprofit development organization founded in 1979 to meet the needs of individuals, nonprofit agencies, cities and towns. We create a range of housing opportunities as well as office and program space designed to enhance the quality of services provided. With a variety of creative public and private financing tools available to us, we provide expertise in the development, financing, design, construction and zoning of complex projects.
Our business lines include:
• Development of community residences for persons in need of support services;
• Accessibility modifications to homes and apartments of people with disabilities;
• Provision of ramps, equipment and assistive technology to people with disabilities;
• Development of affordable housing;
• Development of supportive housing for people at risk of homelessness;
• Conversion of obsolete factories and brownfields into contemporary housing;
• Development and construction of non-residential projects for nonprofit agencies.
Major Fundraiser: Over our golf tournament’s 20-year-history, we have raised more than $700,000 that has helped hundreds of people lead more independent lives. CIL Golf 2010 is scheduled for Sept. 16 at Tumble Brook Country Club. This year’s fundraising goal is $60,000.
