Hartford’s CareCentrix acquires Philadelphia palliative care firm

Hartford-based CareCentrix, a provider of home-based and post-acute care services, says it’s acquired a palliative care company that serves health plans, hospitals and physicians.

CareCentrix, headquartered at the Stilts Building, 20 Church St., on Monday announced it acquired Philadelphia-based Turn-Key Health for an undisclosed sum.

The deal comes a year after the companies began a partnership to integrate their respective care management and predictive analytic platforms to identify ill patients who could benefit from palliative care.

Following the acquisition, CareCentrix said it plans to fully integrate Turn-Key’s proprietary Palliative Illness Management program into its platform.

“The acquisition of Turn-Key is the next step in CareCentrix’s commitment to provide more home-based services for all patients as delivering care at home becomes the new norm,” said CareCentrix CEO John Driscoll.

In recent weeks, CareCentrix said it’s provided 8,000 home health agencies with access to its telehealth technology platform, following a sweeping expansion of Medicare coverage for remote treatment options meant to stem the spread of COVID-19.

CareCentrix said it has provided its network of agencies with three-way virtual health conferencing capabilities, as well as remote monitoring, secure messaging and clinical analytics tools. The telehealth offering is free to the agencies.
