Hartford intellectual property law firm Cantor Colburn LLP has merged with a Houston law firm to establish a practice there.
Veteran Houston intellectual properly attorney Paul S. Madan and his firm, Madan & Sriram, P.C.. merge their practice into mid-sized Cantor Colburn.
Edmund P. Anderson, partner in the Cantor Colburn’s Detroit office, will manage the Texas office at 2603 Augusta Drive.
David E. Rodrigues, a patent lawyer in the Hartford office and a specialist in materials science and engineering, also is relocating to Houston.
Co-manager partner Phil Colburn II said Cantor Colburn’s clients encouraged the firm to expand its practice to Texas. The firm’s other offices are in Atlanta and Washington D.C.
“Companies continue to respond positively to our business model of offering high quality, responsive legal services,” said co-managing partner Michael A. Cantor. “It’s given us a competitive advantage in a tight legal market.”
