Hartford’s 100 Pearl lands New Britain nonprofit

The Connecticut Health Foundation will leave the facility it now shares with the Community Foundation in New Britain and move to the 100 Pearl Street office tower in downtown Hartford, The New Britain Herald reports.

“After six years as a member of the New Britain business community, CT Health has outgrown its offices at Vine Street,” Patricia Baker, CT Health President & CEO told the newspaper on its Web site.

The foundation in 2009 began a review of facilities that Baker said could provide more room for staff and to meet with its grantees, Health Leadership Fellows and other stakeholders.

“After months of exploring its options, we identified 100 Pearl Street as the site to best meet our present and future needs,” Baker said. It shares space at 74 Vine St. in New Britain.

Date of the move will be announced when it is finalized later this summer.

The nonprofit Greater Hartford Arts Council also recently leased 6,156 square feet of ground-level space at 100 Pearl St.

Built in 1989, the blue-hued-glass 100 Pearl Street is a 17-story Class A office building is owned by The Silverman Group. Other tenants include law firm Updike Kelly and Spellacy, Virtus Investment Partners and Robert Half International.
