Hartford, Windsor schools win CT green awards

The Capitol Region Education Council’s two schools in Hartford and Windsor have been honored by Connecticut’s Green LEAF program to honor sustainability in school design and use.

The Two Rivers Magnet High School in Hartford and the CREC Medical Professions and Teacher Preparation Academy in Windsor are among the six schools in Connectcut to be honored by the program.

The Green Leading, Educating, Achieveing, and Fostering Healthy Green Schools for all programs encourages sustainable operational methods in educational settings, promoting the belief that it enhancing the learning process.

Green LEAF is a collaboration of the state departments of Education, Energy & Environmental Protection, Public Health, and Construction Services.
