Hartford, West Hartford restaurants to close in ‘strategic realignment’

Plan b restaurant group is continuing to shrink, announcing it will close three locations by the end of this month.

Calling the move a “strategic realignment of its footprint,” the company says it will not renew leases at its West Hartford (138 Park Road), downtown Hartford (35 Front St.) and Springfield restaurants.

The burger-focused chain will continue to operate the remaining restaurants in Milford, Glastonbury and Simsbury.

“This decision reflects a balance between fiscal responsibility and staying true to the experience our guests and teams deserve,” said Allie J. Gamble, Plan b’s founder and CEO.

The restaurant group was founded in 2006. At its peak, Plan b operated 11 restaurants across Connecticut, Massachusetts, Virginia and in Washington DC. It closed a Southington location in May.

All employees at the closing restaurants will receive severance pay, and the company is working to place staff at other Plan b locations. Gift cards will continue to be honored at remaining restaurants.
