Sarah Palin won’t be coming to Hartford after all.
The former vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor had been announced as the headline speaker for a business-oriented seminar Sept. 22.
But the Palin camp says the Hartford stop isn’t on her schedule.
Gary Troy, organizer of the event, says it’s all a miscommunication and that the show will go on without the high-profile politician, author and Tea Party favorite. Her photo has been removed from the promoter’s website.
Scheduled speakers include sales and personal effectiveness guru Brian Tracy; motivational speaker Les Brown; and memory expert Ron White. Organizers still haven’t announced a Hartford venue for the event.
The Hartford Business Journal, which had initially signed on as a media partner, has severed its ties with the event. Publisher Gail Lebert said confusion and uncertainty over the program led to the decision.
Last September, a similarly promoted event — Get Motivated! — drew thousands to the XL Center to hear Laura Bush, Rudy Giuliani, Colin Powell and Joe Montana.
