Hartford trampoline park expected to close; space up for lease

Hartford’s indoor Launch Trampoline Park is not expected to reopen during the COVID-19 pandemic as the owners of the commercial building on Brainard Road are seeking new tenants for the facility.

Broker Sentry Commercial recently listed the entire 44,559-square-foot building, half of which is currently vacant, for lease on its website.

A source familiar with the situation told HBJ there is speculation Launch Trampoline Park will not reopen in its roughly 22,500-square-foot space due to financial woes it experienced before the coronavirus outbreak. Its recent temporary closure amid the pandemic has only worsened its financial standing, the source added.

The lease on the trampoline park space, held by Restaurant Depot, expires in 2021, officials say. The trampoline park is a subtenant.

Operators of the trampoline park could not be reached for comment.

According to Sentry Commercial’s listing, the property includes three loading dock doors, 1,000 square feet of office space and a large parking area.

Sentry industrial broker Chris Duclos in an interview with HBJ said the building owner, ANO LLC, is seeking either one large tenant or two tenants to split the flexible space at 91 Brainard Road, which was previously owned by Hartford health insurer Aetna.

Duclos suggested a supply chain management or logistics company such as Amazon would be well suited for the space.

“The entertainment side is a big question mark with COVID-19,” he said of potential uses at the site. “Unless you replicate the trampoline park or add a gym, I just don’t know that will happen there.”

Launch Trampoline Park debuted in Hartford in late 2013 led by former NFL cornerback Ty Law, who won three Super Bowl rings with the New England Patriots, and Rhode Island entrepreneur Robert Arnold.

The partners built their first trampoline park business in 2012 in Rhode Island, where the park was spurred by advertised appearances from Tom Brady, Deion Branch, Kevin Faulk and other professional athletes.

Launch Trampoline Park currently has numerous locations in New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and other states, according to its website.
