Hartford to re-host SBIR event in 2010

Gov. M. Jodi Rell today announced today that the 2010 National Small Business Innovation Research Conference is returning to Hartford on April 21-23.

This will be the second time in three years that the national conference on encouraging technology transfer and boosting start-up technology firms is held in the capital city.

Connecticut’s success hosting the 2008 event last November at the downtown Connecticut Convention Center was a major factor in the decision, Rell said.

She said the nominating committee told the state’s Office for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) that they were confident Hartford would once again provide the “catalyst for collaboration” necessary to forge successful business partnerships.

Last year’s conference drew about 900 visitors from 46 states and several countries.

“It’s great to see that Governor Rell is supporting this initiative.

Connecticut needs more innovation activity, which will expand its economy and affect the citizens whose livelihood would be positively enhanced.” — John Bernardi, INTAgLIO Business Solutions
