Hartford to host July 4 fireworks celebration; two-day music festival set for July 14-15 

Hartford’s Independence Day celebration, called Hartford Bonanza, is set for Sunday.

Held in Bushnell Park, the event kicks off at 2 p.m., and ends with fireworks at 9:45 p.m.

There will be live DJs, rides on the Bushnell Park carousel, food trucks and vendors on Trinity Street, a Wood-N-Tap beer garden, an interactive civil art exhibit and a live television broadcast with Fox 61/CW Live.

Performers will include Hartford-born jazz musician Jonathan Barber, along with Dwayne Keitih & Friends.

Also, a two-day music festival is set for July 14 and 15, at Trinity Health Stadium, formerly known as Dillon Stadium, home to the Hartford Athletics soccer team.

The inaugural Capital City Music & Beer Festival presented by Hoffman Auto includes six bands and 40 brands of beer.

July 14 will feature ’80s new wave band A Flock of Seagulls, and on July 15, reggae band The Legendary Wailers will perform. Breweries, distilleries and vineyards from New England will offer tastings.

Single-day tickets are $49 for beer-tasting and music, $32 for music only and $80 for VIP experience. Two-day passes available.
