The former Bikram Yoga studio is relocating to downtown Hartford’s 777 Main St. high-rise apartment tower just after the first of the year, the owner says.
Hartford Sweat is the new name for the yoga studio that will occupy more than 5,200 square feet – 50 percent bigger than its previous downtown home — in the redeveloped former Bank of America tower that architect-landlord Bruce Becker owns.
Studio owner Natasha Roggi said three-year-old Bikram was forced to close its original Pratt Street location earlier this year, due to a severe flood in that location.
In addition to yoga, Zumba and other fitness programs, Hartford Sweat’s facilities include a massage-therapy center and showered locker rooms.
In October, Blue State Coffee opened on the ground floor of 777 Main.
The Greenway Market also is set to open early next year in 777 Main’s adjoining retail annex fronting Asylum Street.
