The Big East has re-signed to hold its women’s basketball tournament in Hartford through the 2012-2013 season.
Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
Hartford has helped the Big East lead all leagues in women’s basketball conference tournament attendance for eight consecutive years, averaging 8,835 fans per tourney, officials said Monday.
They said the one millionth fan is expected to attend Hartford play sometime during the next two tournament seasons.
The 2012 Big East women’s championship will be March 2-6 at the XL Center and the 2013 championship will be hosted in Hartford March 8-12.
