Start-up Weekend, a Seattle nonprofit that sponsors entrepreneurial events around the country with the help of local experts, has scheduled an October event that will virtually link Hartford with Canada’s capital city.
Start-up Weekend Hartford-Ottawa will take place Oct. 18-20 at Saint Francis Medical Hospital and Medical Center. Start-up teams, mentors and others will virtually connect to counterparts in Ottawa for discussions about business plans and ventures.
The event will feature a speech by Jeff Hoffman, a former founding team member of Priceline.com and a current partner in ColorJar.
The event was organized by the MetroHartford Alliance and its young professionals organization, HYPE. This will be the business group’s third Start-Up Weekend in Hartford.
