Hartford schools, UHart to sign affiliation agreement

The Hartford Public Schools system and the University of Hartford have agreed to establish a unique system-wide affiliation that will allow for ongoing research, education, and innovation between the two institutions.

As part of the agreement, which will be officially signed Wednesday,  Hartford Public School students and faculty may benefit from enrollment in UHart courses while UHart education students may be given priority placement in Hartford schools.

The Institute for Translational Research, established in 2010 at UHart, will also bring public school and University faculty together to determine what research is needed and to ensure that research activities are relevant to the Hartford Public Schools.

These activities will build on existing partnerships at Annie Fisher STEM Magnet School, Betances Early Reading Lab School, Global Communications Academy, Montessori Magnet School at Annie Fisher, University High School of Science and Engineering, and Weaver High School, among others.
