Mednax, a Florida physician services provider, has acquired Hartford-based Jefferson Radiology and Jefferson Imaging Associates for an undisclosed cash sum.
The acquisition, for which terms were not disclosed, expands Sunrise, Fla.-based Mednax’s radiology services, the company said.
Established in 1963 with 60 physicians today, Jefferson Radiology is the largest private radiology group in Connecticut. The practice serves 10 outpatient centers in Hartford County and seven regional hospitals.
“We are excited about the growth of radiology physician services at MEDNAX and our ability to attract leading radiology providers such as Jefferson Radiology, further enhancing our integrated physician services offering,” said Roger J. Medel, CEO of Mednax.
The majority of Jefferson radiologists are highly specialized, and provide subspecialty services that include body imaging and onco-radiology to nuclear medicine and pediatric imaging.
With this acquisition, eight physician group practices have become part of Mednax in 2017, the company said.
