Hartford Public Library has hired Lucy Nalpathanchil, a longtime Connecticut Public radio host and executive, as its chief advancement officer.
Nalpathanchil, who started June 29, oversees the library’s fundraising, donor relations, marketing and communications, program coordination and strategic partnerships, according to the library.
Her work includes strengthening the library’s connections with Hartford neighborhoods and expanding audiences for its programs and services.
Nalpathanchil spent nearly two decades at Connecticut Public, the state’s NPR and PBS affiliate. She most recently served as vice president of community engagement, a position she held from November 2022 until June.
Connecticut Public created the role to build connections between its journalism and community organizations and civic institutions across Connecticut.
Before moving into that position, Nalpathanchil was executive producer and host of “Where We Live,” Connecticut Public’s weekday morning talk show and podcast, from 2016 to 2022. Catherine Shen became the program’s full-time host in February 2023.
