A Hartford property owner is seeking a zoning change to allow a mixed-use development on a vacant parcel at 1088 Albany Ave.
John C. Clark III, of John C. Clark & Associates LLC, has filed an application on behalf of property owner Alton L. Davis to rezone the roughly quarter-acre property at the corner of Albany Avenue and Oakland Terrace from NX-1 residential zoning to MS-1.
The proposal calls for a 7,000-square-foot, two-story building with commercial space on the first floor and residential units on the second floor. Plans also include a basement and 10 parking spaces, including one accessible space.
According to application materials, the zoning change is needed because the current district only permits residential uses. The property is currently vacant and located in Hartford’s Upper Albany neighborhood.
The application is on the agenda for the Hartford Planning & Zoning Commission’s June 9 meeting.
