Brian Foley, the former Hartford Police deputy chief, is joining Tribune Broadcasting’s Fox 61 stations in Hartford and New Haven as its chief investigator, the station announced Thursday.
The lifelong Tolland native said earlier this month he is retiring from the Capital City’s law enforcement unit after serving 23 years to “pursue other career opportunities” in the Hartford community.
“As a decorated former chief and true champion for our state, he will bring invaluable insight to our FOX61 viewers in our newly created role as Chief Investigator,” said Grey Godbout, Fox 61’s news director. “Clearly one of the most recognizable faces in Connecticut, we know Brian with his extensive expertise will be an outstanding addition to our FOX61 team.”
During his tenure at Hartford Police, Foley also served as chief of detectives and public information officer after being hired in 1994 as a patrolman.
Foley has said he plans to continue serving the Hartford region on the Urban League of Greater Hartford, the Julio Lozada Foundation, Hartford Yard Goats Community Board and Hartford Marathon Foundation.
