The city of Hartford hopes to draw 25,000 to a Sept. 29 EnvisionFest, a day of free entertainment and activities showcasing the potential for more fully utilizing Bushnell Park.
On Thursday, Mayor Pedro Segarra and representatives of the iQuilt Partnership will unveil plans for the event that will include more than 20 arts organizations, artists and businesses. Organizers plan musical events, stilt walkers and games for children on the Bushnell Park lawn. A bike tour of Hartford parks is included.
Organizers are billing EnvisionFest as “a unique opportunity to discover the future of Hartford.” The iQuilt Partnership has recommended a major overhaul of Hartford’s downtown landscape to make the city greener, more friendly to walkers and more attractive to events.
EnvisionFest coincides with Pipes in the Valley, a Celtic music festival along the Hartford Riverfront the same day.
