Hartford’s Medical Risk Management, which provides consulting and other services to healthcare providers, said it has changed its name to MRM Group.
MRM said in a statement that it felt the new name better distinguishes the company because “MRM” has become a commonly-used acronym in the healthcare industry to refer to risk management services for malpractice, patient safety and other healthcare-related exposures.
The company, founded in 2004 and housed in Oak Street’s Capitol Place, is headed by CEO Kevin W. Kelly, who has worked in the past as executive director for signature programs at UConn Health Center and as an administrator at Hartford Hospital.
