Hartford lawyer Brady wins professionalism award

Murtha Cullina attorney Francis J. Brady has been awarded the Edward F. Hennessey Professionalism Award by the Connecticut Bar Association.

The award is named in honor of Edward F. Hennessey, a former partner at Robinson & Cole and is given to a lawyer who has had a career dedicated to “the highest ideals and standards of the legal profession.”

Brady, a Granby resident who joined Murtha Cullina in 1974, has a broad base of business litigation experience. He has been included in the Best Lawyers in America publication for several categories over a number of years including in 2012 when he was named Hartford Lawyer of the Year in the category of Bet-the-Company Litigation.

Brady has been actively involved in several community and professional organizations. He is a board member of the Greater Hartford Legal Aid Society and also a former mayor of Windsor.

CT lawyers honor consumer advocate Nader

Consumer activist and failed presidential candidate Ralph Nader was recently honored with the Distinguished Public Service Award by the Connecticut Bar Association at its annual meeting. Others honorees included Rep. Joe Courtney and Brad Saxton, dean of the Quinnipiac University School of Law. Chase T. Rogers, chief justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court was a keynote speaker.

Rensselaer Intl. Scholars Program awarded

Rensselaer’s International Scholars Program (ISP) was recently awarded a Gold Innovation Prize for 2013 at the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award (CQIA) Partnership’s 26th Annual Conference on Quality and Innovation. The ISP is a study abroad program for graduate students designed to expose young professionals to international experiences in conjunction with global organizations. It combines coursework, visits to local business and industry sites, expert guest speakers, and a comprehensive project. The CQIA Partnership was founded in 1987 utilizing the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for Performance Excellence criteria in an effort to advance innovative programs that improve quality performance and marketplace competitiveness.

Paul Czepiga, Brendan Daly and Carmine Perri of Berlin law firm CzepigaDaly have been honored as Connecticut Super Lawyers for 2013 by Super Lawyers Magazine. The three attorneys were singled out as Super Lawyers in the elder law practice area. CzepigaDaly offers estate and tax planning, elder law, litigation, estate administration, probate and special needs trusts services with offices in Berlin, Vernon and Bridgeport.
