Hartford highrise gets LEED Platinum rating

The 777 Main high-rise apartment building in downtown Hartford has received the highest possible LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

777 Main received LEED Platinum certification in August, developer Becker + Becker confirmed recently. Formerly known as the Bank of America tower, the 26-story building produces electricity from a 400-kilowatt fuel cell and will soon produce energy from a 100-kilowatt solar array which is currently being installed.

777 also uses Nest thermostats, LED lighting and occupancy sensors and 11 electric-vehicle charging stations.

The property received 80 of 110 possible points under the building council’s LEED rating system, which assigns platinum status at 80 points and above.
