Hartford HealthCare partners with NY tech platform on patient billing

Hartford HealthCare (HHC) announced this week it would partner with New York-based tech company Cedar to improve online billing for patients.

Cedar’s platform allows for billing through the Epic MyChart patient portal and uses the portal’s messaging and outreach systems.

“Our partnership with Cedar will allow us to deliver a consumer-focused payment experience at scale,” said HHC Senior Vice President Cynthia Pugliese.

“Integrating Cedar directly into Hartford HealthCare’s existing Epic EHR [electronic health record] system will create a seamless digital bill pay experience for patients, so providers can focus on providing the best possible care for patients,” Cedar CEO Florian Otto said in a statement.
