Greater Hartford gasoline prices increased 5.6 cents in the past week, reversing several months of continuous decline, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
The $3.70 price per gallon of regular unleaded on Wednesday was the largest jump of the new year, as gasoline prices have been holding steady in Connecticut around $3.65 per gallon since Jan. 1.
Gasoline prices had been falling steadily since August when prices were well above $4 per gallon, although the fall plateaued with the new year before making the increase this week.
Wednesday’s prices are below the gasoline prices from a year ago, when Greater Hartford gasoline stations were charging $3.71 per gallon.
