Hartford gasoline prices fall during Sandy

Greater Hartford’s gasoline prices dropped during Hurricane Sandy, even as fuel supplies were a concern in advance of the storm.

The price per gallon of regular unleaded was $3.875 on Wednesday, down from $3.880 on Tuesday and $3.952 a week ago, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.

In advance of Hurricane Sandy on Monday, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy formed a task force to make sure stations had adequate supplies before, during, and after the storm.

The demand for gasoline was three times above the normal demand in advance of the storm, according to the Independent Connecticut Petroleum Association.
