Greater Hartford gasoline prices dropped 10 cents in a week to below $4 per gallon of regular unleaded for the first time since August, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
Prices at Greater Hartford gas stations were $3.952 per gallon of regular unleaded on Wednesday, down from $4.052 from the previous week.
Gasoline prices have crossed above the $4 per gallon threshold several times this year. Prices kicked above the milestone in late August and stayed above it until this week.
The price of oil – a major influence in gasoline prices – dropped on Wednesday to $85.44 per barrel on Wednesday, a 1.2 percent decrease from Tuesday.
