Gas prices in the Greater Hartford area dropped another 2.1 percent this week, working out close to 9 cents per gallon of unleaded.
This is the third week in a row the price of regular unleaded dropped after a year was prices rose quickly to above $4.20 per gallon. Despite the drop, the price per gallon is still up more than $1 per gallon over last year.
From Wednesday to Wednesday, the price per gallon of unleaded in Greater Hartford went from $4.224 per gallon to $4.135 per gallon, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.The price a year ago was $2.971 per gallon.
The price of diesel also dropped this week, although not as drastically. From last week, the cost per gallon of diesel went from $4.331 per gallon to $4.254 per gallon.
