Hartford firm becomes Seattle’s lean vendor

Hartford efficiency consulting firm on Friday announced it has become a preferred vendor for all lean projects in King County, Washington, which includes the city of Seattle.

In the three-year contract, Daniel Penn Associates of Hartford will be one of 12 companies that can bid on intermittent projects to make the Seattle and King County more lean, including strategic deployment, putting on events, training, and installing management systems.

The value of the contract will be based on how much work Daniel Penn does. King County has 1.9 million residents and is the 14th most populous U.S. county.

Daniel Penn, a minority-owned firm founded in 1978, also holds contracts with the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services, Aetna, RBS Citizens Bank, the Connecticut Hospital Association, and statewide contracts with Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
