Hartford online retailer Outrageous Ventures Inc. sold its online novelty-sales sites for more than $1.2 million to an electronic retailer based in Vancouver, Wash., according to The Columbian.
IStores Inc. owner will add about 10 employees to its staff of 28, said owner Adam Stites, Columbian.com reports.
Outrageous Ventures online store portfolio included PrankPlace.com, a novelty and gag gift retailer.
President Steve Wampold said the novelty sites sold accounted for about 30 percent of Outrageous Ventures’ revenues. The company continues to operate in Hartford, he said.
IStores’ lineup of niche retail businesses includes Xtremez, an online seller of paint ball and sports equipment.
