John Palmieri, the head of Hartford’s redevelopment effort, may uproot from Connecticut to become leader of the Boston Redevelopment Authority. Boston newspapers reported that Mayor Thomas M. Menino is strongly considering Palmieri for the position, which has been vacant in Boston since early this year. Dot Joyce, the Boston mayor’s spokeswoman, told reporters Menino could make an offer as early as next week. Palmieri, executive director for the Hartford Redevelopment Agency, has been in Hartford for three and a half years. Before moving to the Insurance City, he headed up development for Charlotte, N.C., and worked in Providence for 18 years. Palmieri could not be reached for comment.
