Hartford County is home to a quarter of the Marcum Tech Top 40 companies announced Friday, but New Haven and Fairfield counties outpaced the Capital City with a dozen each.
The Connecticut Technology Council (CTC) and Marcum LLP recognized the 40 firms in its 2016 Marcum Tech Top 40, an annual acknowledgement of the fastest-growing technology companies in Connecticut.
Windham and Litchfield each host one company, while Middlesex and New London Counties each have two.
In addition, two more companies are being recognized for the first time, as “accelerator” companies that scaled to $3 million in revenue in less than three years. The two Stamford companies are Arccos Golf LLC and MediaCrossing Inc.
Now in its ninth year, the award recognizes technology leaders in six industry sectors, including advanced manufacturing, energy/environmental, life sciences, new media/internet/telecom, IT services, and software. The companies have at least $3 million in annual revenue and a demonstrated record of revenue growth in each of the preceding four years.
Of this year’s top 40, 12 firms are publicly traded, and five have more than $1billion in annual revenue.
This year’s group of top-ranked companies will be honored at an awards ceremony at the Oakdale Theater on Sept. 22. A list of winning companies is available online at www.ctc.org, and below:
