Cable-TV operator Comcast Corp. and concert promoter Live Nation Inc. today announced a 7-year agreement in which Live Nation’s Meadows Music Theater in Hartford will be called Comcast Theatre, beginning this summer.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Opened in 1995, Comcast Theatre can accommodate 25,000 people and hosts approximately 20 concerts per year. Some of the well-known acts on this summer’s lineup include Nickelback, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Coldplay, Phish, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith and Dave Matthews Band.
Los Angeles-based Live Nation is the world’s largest producer of live concerts, annually producing more than 22,000 concerts for 1,600 artists in 33 countries.
Philadelphia-based Comcast has more than 550,000 customers and 1,300 employees in Connecticut.
