Diane Alverio, D. Alverio & Co.
Diane Alverio is the principal of D. Alverio & Co., a media relations company that handles public policy issues and crisis communications for nonprofits and state agencies.
She was recently recognized by the Hartford Club with a Leadership Award for launching its “Women Who Dare” speaker series, in which accomplished women from different fields share their journeys to success.
Her work on behalf of civic organizations have also been recognized over the years by the Connecticut Girls Council, the city of Hartford, Progresso Latino Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Hartford, the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association and Central Connecticut State University.
For two consecutive years, she was named one of the “100 Most Influential Hispanics” in the nation by Hispanic Business Magazine. Prior to launching her media relations company, she worked as a reporter for local CBS, NBC affiliates and WTIC radio in Hartford.
Pamela Trotman Reid, President, St. Joseph College
Pamela Trotman Reid was appointed as the eighth president of St. Joseph College in January, 2008, after serving as provost and executive vice president for Roosevelt University in Chicago. Previously she served in several leadership roles at the City University of New York’s Graduate Center, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, the American Psychological Association, and the University of Michigan. She is a developmental psychologist who, throughout her career, has worked with faculty and administrative colleagues alike to enhance academic quality and promote diversity. She has received a number of honors, including being named on these lists: 100 Most Influential Blacks in the State of Connecticut by the Connecticut State Conference of the NAACP (2009), Eight Remarkable Women in Business by Hartford Business Journal (2010), and Hartford’s 50 Most Influential People by Hartford Magazine (2010). She holds a B.S. from Howard University, an M.A. from Temple University and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
