Hartford braces for throngs of Lizzo fans with concert set for Tuesday night

Throngs of Lizzo fans are expected in downtown Hartford Tuesday for the high-profile hip-hop artist’s concert at the XL Center at 8 p.m.

The 35-year-old rapper, known for several hit songs including “About Damn Time,” was originally scheduled to perform at the XL Center on May 6. The show was postponed at the last-minute because she had strep throat.

Rapper Latto, who was scheduled to open the original concert, will perform the opening act for the postponed show as well.

Lizzo attained mainstream success in 2019 with the release of her third studio album, “Cuz I Love You,” which peaked at No. 4 on the U.S. Billboard 200.
