Hartford-based law firm Robinson+Cole adds 8-member team to N.Y. office

Hartford-based law firm Robinson+Cole has added an eight-member team to its New York office, marking an expansion of services in one of the larger of the 11 cities in which it operates.

Additions include two new partners —  John McCarrick and Erica Kerstein — and six other attorneys — Phyllis Ingram and Sedgwick Jeanite; and associates Meryl Breeden, Joseph Finelli, Dmitriy Gelfand and Andrew Lipton — who all focus on insurance-related issues, including directors and officers liability, errors and omissions, and representation and warranty insurance, according to Robinson+Cole.

The entire team previously practiced at Philadelphia-based White and Williams LLP.

“The addition of John and Erica is a further step in the execution of our strategic plan, which calls for aggressive expansion in our larger financial center locations as well as the growth of practices,”  said Stephen Goldman, Robinson+Cole’s managing partner.

The expanded New York office will compliment Robinson+Cole’s nationwide property and casualty insurance coverage practice, Goldman said.

The move comes after Robinson+Cole last year added a bankruptcy practice to offices in New York, Philadelphia and Wilmington, Del. Earlier this year, the firm announced the addition of Fredrick Hedberg to its Hartford office as a partner in Robinson+Cole’s construction practice.

Robinson+Cole was one of six Hartford companies to receive between $5 million and $10 million in federal Paycheck Protection Program funds this year.
